Pendidikan Multikultural Dalam Buku Teks Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Internasional

In the process of education, multicultural education implementation contains two important aspects. The first is the values of multicultural material that will be transferred to the learners The second is the use of these values in the multimedia learning, especially through text books to be used as teaching material in the process of educational interaction.

Related to textbooks used in the international school, multicultural educational value should be implemented in order to give the understanding of the diversity of the cultures and the differences of the individual. But in fact the use of the values of multicultural education is often overlooked and even ignored. Refer to the above considerations this study analyzed five books through content analysis. This study aims to find out which of the five books really implemented the values of multicultural.

The finding shows that the book my pals are here better implement the values of multicultural in the terms of the goal, learning material, activities and exercises than the other four books. However when each book seen based on the language skill the book Lets Celebrate English is better than others books. In general this study found that there is no guarantee that books which is used in international school contains all multicultural values.
